About the Author

I’ve always enjoyed writing pieces that make people laugh, but in the last few years I’ve grown to also enjoy making people feel. In this story I’ve tried to do a little bit of both. Captain Copenhagen came from some of my own experiences with mental health and I wanted to write something that could help someone who is going through something similar. To show them something they could relate to, to feel heard. Maybe even make them smile.
I studied Drama at Loughborough Uni, going on to complete an MFA in Writing for Stage and Broadcast Media at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. I’ve written lots of short plays which have been performed at festivals and collaborated on projects with local theatres. I’ve also written numerous sketches and studied with The Second City theatre in Chicago. This time I wanted to try writing a good old fashioned story. The kind where you are one on one with the text, getting a real look inside the character’s minds. My dream is to one day turn Captain Copenhagen into a book and experience that wonderful moment of picking it up and smelling the first few pages. That real book smell.
I am very lucky to live a wonderful life with my husband and when I’m not writing or working I also enjoy reading, gaming and drinking tea. Lots and lots of tea.
I hope you enjoy Captain Copenhagen and please connect if you’d like to see what else I’m up to!
